Mr. Yeo Jie Yuan
Resident Conductor (MBSAB, MBSSB)
Mr Yeo developed a passion for music in Maha Bodhi School when he was a student of Mr Quek Boon Hui. Mr Yeo continued his music education in Manjusri Secondary School under the tutelage of Mr Simon Foo.Upon graduating, Mr. Yeo went on to play in various bands including the Philharmonic Youth Winds, National institute of Education Symphonic Band (NIESB), Moulmein Winds Symphony, Le Band and The Band Director's Association Band (BDAS).
Upon finishing serving his National Service in 2009, Mr. Yeo went on to pursue a specialist diploma in Band Directing under the tutelage of A/P Ho Hwee Long in NIE.At the same time, Mr. Yeo had become the Assisstant conductor of MBSSB and shortly after, becoming MBSSB's resident conductor in 2010. In July 2011, Mr. Yeo was also appointed as the Band director for Broadrick Secondary School.
Mr. Yeo is also currently the Trombone tutor for the Music Talent Development center (Primary), a programme set up in 2010 by what has been previously known as MOE-CCAB. He is also actively involved in band programs in Manjusri Secondary and Bendemeer Primary School.
It is his belief that Band Music Education allows a child to develop positively in all aspects of his life, speaking much from experience of having gone through Band Education himself. He also believes that MBSAB gives graduates of Maha Bodhi School Symphonic Band a platform to continue to contribute to their alma mater while honing both their leadership and musical skills.
