MBSAB Executive Committee

Here are the current members of the EXCO of MBSAB.

Ng Zi Hau Clement

Chairman

Class of 1999

Mr. Ng played the trumpet for 13 years and the French Horn for 4 years. He continued his musical journey for a long time after he graduated from MBS. He was a member of the Maris Stella High School Symphonic Band and  Tampines JC Symphonic Band. In his university days at NTU, he was also a member of the NTU Symphonic Band where he is still actively playing with now. In July 2012, he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He is currently an engineer with Aibel Pte Ltd, a Norwegian oil and gas company.

 

Ng Lay Puay Joceyln

Vice-chairman

Class of 2002

Miss Ng played the clarinet for 16 years. Afer graduating from MBS, she went on as the school band member of Manjusri Secondary School and  Meridian JC, where she served as Band Major and Secretary respectively. She is one of the founding members of the MBS Alumni Band, and has been actively involved since its inception in 2008. Miss Ng is currently  in her fourth year of studies in the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biological Sciences programme at NTU.

Low Kaili

Vice-Chairman

Class of 2001

Mr. Low played the trombone for 17 years. After graduating from MBS, he went on to East View Secondary School Band where he served as student leader with several profiles. For National Service, Mr. Low also served as a Military Musician in the Singapore Armed Forces Bands. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Management at the Singapore Institute of Management. He is also one of the founding members of the MBS Alumni Band. He is actively involved in mentoring the juniors and Sub-Committee in organizing various smaller scale events, to help them develop leadership and organizational skills.

 

Ng Sin Wee Benny

Honorary Secretary

Class of 1999

Mr. Ng played the trumpet for 17 years. After leaving MBS, he went on to join school bands of Chung Cheng High School (Main) and Meridian Junior College where he was the Welfare Officer and Assistant Student Conductor respectively. Mr. Ng also served as a Military Musician in the Singapore Armed Forces Bands during NS, before joining the NUS Wind Symphony in 2008. In July 2012, he graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chemistry. He is currently a Trainee Teacher with the MOE, and is pursuing his pre-service Post-Graduate Diploma in Education at NIE.

Ng Bao Lin Clara

Honorary Treasurer

Class of 2005

Miss Ng played the clarinet for 13 years. She served as Section Leader in MBS Band, and held several appointments like in St. Hilda’s Wind Orchestra. She then went on to Temasek JC. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, NTU. As EXCO member of the Alumni Band, Miss Ng mentored the younger sub-committee in organizing the band camp, and also helped the students out with their school work. She is also instrumental in keeping our expenditures in check.

Chua Jinyu

Chief Librarian

Class of 2007

Miss Chua  played in the Percussion Section when she was a member of the MBS Main Band. She went on to learn the violin in Secondary 1, and is now a member of the Dunman High School Senior High String Ensemble. Miss Chua is currently  a Year 5 student under the Dunman High School Integrated Programme, and is the youngest member of the Executive Committee. She was selected to be a member for her active contribution and excellent leadership in organizing the 2010 Summer Camp for Leadership and Music Appreciation, for the children of MBS Band.

Low Kai Jing

EXCO member

​Class of 2003 

Mr. Low played the trombone in MBSSB and graduated in 2003 before joining East View Secondary School band. Thereafter, he went on to Temasek Polytechnic and graduated in 2011 with a Diploma of Engineering, majoring in Mechatronics. Currently, he is serving his National Service in the SAF. Mr. Low was selected to be in the EXCO because of his exemplary performance as Vice-Organizer of the Summer Camp for Leadership and Music Appreciation for the MBS Main Band, along with Miss Chua Jinyu. He is currently on hiatus from MBSAB due to NS commitments.

 

Choo Ming Ren

Head, Logistics

​Class of 2004 

Mr. Choo played the trombone for 11 years. After graduating from MBS, he went on the Bedok North Secondary School and became a band member there. Earlier this year, he graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Aerospace Electronics, and is currently serving his National Service as a Military Musician in the SAF Bands. During the setting up of the alumni band, he was instrumental in keeping record of all instrument usage and all band logistics. Mr. Choo is currently on hiatus from MBSAB due to NS commitments.
